Frequently Asked Questions on Health Services
Booking an appointment at BODYSYSTEM is simple and convenient. Just click on the “BOOK NOW” button, provide a few details including your preferred practitioner, type of consultation and choose a date and time that suits you. If you need assistance, our friendly team is available to help over the phone. A day before your appointment, you’ll receive an SMS reminder, which may include a link to fill out any necessary Patient Forms online beforehand for a smoother visit.
At BODYSYSTEM, we specialise in treating a diverse spectrum of health issues, spanning from preventive care to comprehensive post-operative rehabilitation for various parts of the body. If you’re unsure about which service suits your needs best, our knowledgeable team is ready to assist you. You can also visit our Services page for detailed information on the specific conditions and treatments we offer.
We strive to accommodate your preference for a specific practitioner whenever possible. However, there are occasions when certain practitioners may not be accepting new patients. In such cases, rest assured we will schedule your appointment with the most suitable practitioner based on your needs and the expertise required for your care. Your health and well-being are our priority.
While in-person consultations provide the most effective and comprehensive hands-on treatment, we recognize that circumstances may require telehealth appointments. Please contact us if you need a telehealth session. Please note that we require your Initial Consultation to be attended in person for optimal care. Your health and convenience are important to us.
Prepare for your appointment by wearing comfortable clothing and being ready to share your health history. Jot down any concerns or questions beforehand. Your first consultation focuses on understanding your needs, setting goals, and starting treatment. Your comfort and readiness are key to a productive session.
For patients aged 16 to 18, we recommend attending your Initial Consultation with a parent, guardian or carer to discuss treatment consent and management. It’s preferred that they join future sessions as well, though we understand this may not always be feasible. If you’re under 16, it’s mandatory to have a parent, guardian or carer present at all consultations due to legal requirements.
The frequency of your appointments will be customised to your individual needs and ability to attend. During your initial consultation, your practitioner will discuss with you the optimal frequency for your recovery and progress, taking into account what is feasible for you. Typically, appointments are more frequent initially and may decrease as you improve. We prioritise efficient treatment and will refer you to a Sports Doctor, surgeon or other specialists as necessary.
If you are a Workers Compensation or MAIB patient, please contact us directly to schedule your appointment. When calling, please have your Claim Number, Insurer and/or Employer contact details on hand as we will require this information. Once your claim is approved, we will bill your employer or their insurer directly, eliminating the need for you to handle any payments yourself.
Certainly! While we do not operate as an NDIS service provider, you are welcome to pay on the day and seek reimbursement from NDIS or your NDIS service provider at our standard fee rate. If you prefer, you can contact us to arrange direct invoicing to your NDIS service provider.
You are welcome to attend BODYSYSTEM as a private patient; however, please note that we are unable to accept DVA cards. We recommend checking with DVA directly to confirm your entitlements and options for reimbursement.
Medicare does not cover physiotherapy or exercise physiology consultations. However, if eligible, your GP can issue you with an Enhanced Primary Care Plan or a Chronic Disease Management Plan, which allows for a Medicare rebate. Please note, there will still be an out-of-pocket expense, and these plans have specific restrictions. We require a copy of the plan from your GP before processing any rebates.
